Scavenge in daylight and defend your truck after dark. The creatures want your resources too: a stolen charge or an abandoned meal can help turn tonight's threat into something worse.

What you leave behind can come back hungry.
Your truck gets you moving, gives you a place to return, and powers the machinery keeping the dead away. Driving, lighting the dark, and sweeping attackers off the hull all draw from the same battery. A successful day is about more than finding parts. You have to decide where that power goes.
The enemy is preparing too. A thief can carry a charge to a bonfire. A consumer can finish the biomass you failed to recover and return as a stronger creature. Interrupt the meal, reclaim the resource, or face what it becomes. The night reflects what happened during the day.
